KAILUA-KONA,
HI - It
is the news that beekeepers
and farmers have been dreading
to hear... the destructive varroa
bee mite has been discovered
in Hilo. The mite can kill an
entire colony in weeks, and
spreads easily. The impact on
local agriculture could be disastrous.
Hawaii Department of Agriculture
Entomologist Patrick Conant
explains the developing situation.

video is file footage shot in
New Jersey one year ago.
