heavy showers soak the streets
of hilo, supporters of mayoral
candidate Billy Kenoi are undaunted,
as the early numbers suggest
victory.
Family, friends and campaigners
move under the tents outside
Kenoi's Kilauea headquarters
to escape the downpour, and
continue the party.
Although Kenoi was en route
from Kona when the rains came,
the spirit of the faithful held
strong, and erupted in cheer
when he finally arrived.
