VIDEO: Rep. Herkes pushes for rural health care, water
Rural health care is the priority of state Representative Bob Herkes, who spoke about his planned efforts in service to the remote areas of Ka`u and South Kona.
Herkes spoke on vog, disaster preparedness, agriculture, and other topics important to his district, during an hour long filming at the Na Leo television studio. Herkes was pleased to announce that a mobile medical van would be providing health services to residents in his district in the coming months.
Herkes also spoke about his plans to make an emergency shelter in Pahala a reality.
With his district struggling with drought and infrastructure issues, Herkes also had harsh words on the topic of county water.
The entire session will be shown on Na Leo o Hawaii television in the coming weeks.
