24 hour one-way traffic pattern on Pakalana St. in Honokaa
Will start April 14 and end approximately July 19

A new 24 hour, one-way traffic pattern and detour will be established on Pakalana Street as a part of the Honoka‘a Large Capacity Cesspool Replacement Project.
The new route will be between Kukui Street and Lehua Street, and will begin on April 14, 2010 and end approximately July 19, 2010. Police say traffic will be allowed to flow in the mauka, or southerly, direction on Pakalana Street.
Officials hope the new traffic pattern will cut down construction time on Pakalana Street by approximately one month, according to the contractor.
Last month, a public meeting was held in Honokaa to discuss the traffic solution, and update the community on the progress of the sewer line project.
