		<description>Dave,

Why is it that the MKMB (ostensibly representing the best interests of the islanders for Mauna Kea matters) and OMKM are not broadcasting the complete project approval process?

Isn&#039;t the more important procedural step, the MKMB&#039;s discussion over the proposed TMT project and a recommendation of approval or disapproval OF THE WHOLE TMT PROPOSAL to the Chancellor? Isn&#039;t that more important than an environmental review document?

If so, why is no one from OMKM or MKMB alerting the public to this important event? (Or is it really just a pro forma rubber stamping of what the University of California, UH and CalTech want?) That meeting was announced to happen May 19 at 9 am at some as yet undetermined room at UHH. Ask Barry Taniguchi or Stephanie Nagata.

While you are at it ask Barry or Stephanie why it was so important for the MKMB to rush through the approval of a &quot;pre-final&quot; final EIS at its April 21 meeting when the official Final EIS is not even scheduled to be released to the public until May 9, 2010?
