North Kohala couple arrested for marijuana

The Hawaii County Police Department has issued the following media release:
Officers from the North Kohala Patrol Division were assisted by members of the Area II Vice Section in serving a search warrant Tuesday morning (June 29) at a home on Ka’ahuhu Road in Kohala.
At the scene, police arrested a 58-year-old Hawi man for marijuana and other drug offenses. Investigators recovered 102 marijuana plants, approximately 340 grams of processed marijuana, more than 7 grams of hashish and miscellaneous grow equipment from the residence. Officers also seized $2,990 in cash for forfeiture.
The man’s 60-year-old wife, who was not home when the warrant was served, was arrested by North Kohala patrol officers for the same offenses on Wednesday (June 30).
Jules and Carol Laramee were each arrested on one count of commercial promotion of marijuana, promoting a detrimental drug, promoting a harmful drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Investigators from the Vice Section continued the investigation. After conferring with prosecutors, they released Carol Laramee Wednesday afternoon pending further investigation.
Police charged Jules Laramee with his offenses late Wednesday afternoon. He was released from custody later that evening after posting $17,500 bail.

ALL DRUGS are detrimental, especially given the fact that MOST people have NO SELF CONTROL and end up stoned all day long, to the detriment of society and families!!!!

This is such BS. When did pot ever hurt anyone? They charge you twice for the same crime: promoting a detrimental drug, AND promoting a harmful drug. That right there proves that the laws, courts, and officers are corrupt. How can something be harmful but not detrimental? How is pot even harmful compared to legal drugs?
Pot relaxes you. And stress causes huge problems. Anything that reduces your stress and is safer than tobacco, alcohol, or caffeine should be called medicine. And anyone who harasses or imprisons someone for using medicine is the real criminal.
“Intelligent Citizen” is just another stoner TRYING to reason away a worthless lifestyle. Stoners do NOT see what that liestyle is doing to themselves, their community and children…THAT is CRIMINAL!!!!
“Medicine”? Tell that to the pharmaceutical companies who will eventualy buy out pot growers because they are TOO STONED to FIGURE OUT what is REALLY going on around them while their head is in the clouds!
Pot IS dangerous, and espeically the drug dealers who grow it and have ANGER ISSUES about “being harassed” for BEING A DRUG DEALER CRIMINAL!!!!
Police are RIGHT to enforce the law…BRING in the FEDS TOO!!!
I hope police are reading these blogs and DIRECTLY look at the evidence of admission of CRIMES, and/or ASSSOCIATION with crimes!!!!!

There is no logical argument against marijuana. People’s lifestyles are their own business, and if that’s a problem for anyone, you have bigger personal issues than pot.
I forgot what a stupid stoner I am…Summa, you are right….my life is the shambles because all I do is sit around and get stoned, go tothebar, get stoned, comehome, get stoned, steal from my friends, get stoned, go to the store,steal more, get stoned again…and the ice helps mewakeup from beingso stoned all the time…so you were right, I AM a LOSER!
