(BIVN) – The video showing Hawaiʻi County Prosecutor Mitch Roth on May 24 warning a crowd at a community meeting to evacuate the lava-ravaged areas of lower Puna was one of a handful of eruption-related videos that got lost in the chaos of the natural disaster.
After publishing some of the “lost” news videos from 2018, we realized there were enough “missing” eruption videos could make a separate list. Here are four more:
Drones Used To Track Eruption
News videographer Daryl Lee caught up with a University of Hawaiʻi drone team as the eruption moved downrift.
National Guard Mobilizes During Eruption
The National Guard is introduced during the first of many community meetings held in Pāhoa during the eruption.
Red Road Widening CIP Rendered Moot
A resolution to include the widening of Red Road, Highway 137, on a capital improvement project wishlist got second-guessed by the Hawaiʻi County Council in June.
Red Cross Opens Shelter
The Hawaiʻi Red Cross addresses the community during a meeting in Pāhoa, talking about the new shelter opened to help those impacted by the eruption of Kīlauea.
