HILO, Hawaiʻi - Hundreds gathered at the Queen Liliʻuokalani Garden Park on the Waiākea Peninsula to honor Hawaiʻi’s last monarch.

(BIVN) – The 2008 Queen Liliuokalani Festival was held in honor of Hawaiʻi’s last monarch, at her namesake Japanese-style garden along the Hilo bay.

Hundreds gathered to pay tribute, and enjoy a day of song, hula, food and entertainment.

An appearance by the the 2008 Aloha Festivals Royal Court, a giant hula with hundreds of dancers, and tens of thousands of flowers showered from the sky were visual highlights of the day.
