December 14, 2008 – Hilo, Hawaii

Motorcycles and vintage cars rallied to bring holiday cheer to the children of less fortunate families in Hilo today.

The Rock and Roll Motorcycle Club sponsored the 13th annual Toys for Tots Run and Rally, collecting thousands of toys for Big Island keiki.

The run was as much a part of the festivities as the gift delivery: riders departed from the Walmart parking lot a little after 10 am, and in rainy conditions, carried their gifts through “4 miles” in Keaukaha, back through Banyan Drive, ending at Aunty Sally’s Luau House. Many residents camped out along the street to see the bikers go past.

At least 14 non profit organizations donated bicycles. The club hoped to match or exceed last years total of 3,000 toys.
