This video, first posted on YouTube, shows lava coming down Alii Street on the northwest corner of the Royal Gardens subdivision. The US Geological Survey reports that surface flows from the Thanksgiving Eve Breakout vent in Kilauea Volcano have been burning forests around the abandoned subdivision this week.
Aside from the activity on the pali, the lava viewing area has offered little excitement for visitors. The actual ocean entry itself has been absent for the past several days.
