A tip to the Hawaii County Police “Ice Hotline” led law enforcement to arrested 49-year old Keith Frendo of Keaau. Frendo was charged with methamphetamine trafficking after police served a warrant Wednesday morning on Frendo’s Orchidland subdivision home.

Vice officers recovered 17 grams of crystal methamphetamine, or “ice”, a small amount of marijuana, avodart drug like resealable plastic bags, and a digital scale. Also seized: a 2005 Ford pickup truck and 37-hundred dollars in cash for forfeiture. In addition to ice-trafficking, police also charged Frendo with promoting a detrimental drug and two counts each of promoting a dangerous drug and drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $64,250.

Police encourage the public to call the Police Department’s 24-hour ice 329-“ZERO-ICE” (329-0423) in Kona and 934-“VICE” (934-8423) in Hilo.
