The new Hawaii County Council rolled up its sleeves for the first time since taking office and got to work on Wednesday. The new majority, as its been called, met in Kona. J Yoshimoto, Fresh Onishi and Donald Ikeda attended via teleconference from Hilo.

One of the first big items passed with a unanimous vote on first reading was Bill 001, dealing with change orders. New council chair Dominic Yagong explains in this interview.

This was the last meeting of 2010. The council meets again in committee on January 4th, again in Kona.
