Construction of ADA compliant sidewalks and a dry well on Mamalahoa Highway in Waimea begins this week, according to a notice issued by the North Hawaii Community Calendar, found at the Waimea Community Association website.
The work will continue for several months.
The dry well is to be dug in the busy highway fronting Thelma Parker Gym, causing some lane closures but one lane of traffic will be maintained in both directions at all times.
Lane closures will be confined to 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Goodfellow Bros. doing the work for the County using federal ARRA funds.
