HILO, Hawaii – High stakes bingo as a method to raising revenues for county government was discussed at the Hawaii County Council this week.
Kohala Councilwoman Margaret Wille brought forward the discussion to see how the council felt about the form of gaming, which Wille says is nothing like casino gambling.
But the idea had its detractors, like Kona councilwoman Brenda Ford.
There was no action on the measure since it was only a discussion. All matters related to gaming at the state legislature appear to be dead this session.
