HILO, Hawaii – With the stormy arrival of Iselle imminent, Hilo Bayfront store owners were hard at work boarding up their businesses. Jeff Johnson of Paradise Restaurant Supply told us – in between securing his windows – that he has been threw numerous Tropical Storm and Tsunami Warnings, but for the first time he is worried about the approaching weather.
Johnson was lending a hand to fellow shop owner Stan Lawrence of Orchidland Surf Shop while we were there. Lawrence is a well known in the Hilo surfing community, and he said that this is the first time he has ever chosen to board up his business.
