KEAUHOU - The public is invited to join the Kamehameha Schools for a three-day tribute in honor of Kamehameha III, the Keauhou-born King of Hawaii from 1825 to 1854.

The Lani Kauikeaouli tribute festivities kick off at 5:30 P.M., next Friday

KEAUHOU – The public is invited to join the Kamehameha Schools for a three-day tribute in honor of Kamehameha III, the Keauhou-born King of Hawaii from 1825 to 1854.

Here is the list of events:

Friday, March 13th ∙ 5:30 to 7 p.m. – Lecture by Dr. Kamana Beamer at Keauhou Ballroom (Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay) Beamer will present “Kauikeaouli: A man of vision”

Saturday, March 14th ∙ 4:30 to 10 p.m. – Free Concert Hawai‘i Lawn (Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay) Event features John Cruz, Brittni Paiva, Natalie Ai Kamau‘u and Mele‘uhane. “Attendees are encouraged to arrive early, pick a spot and browse the Hawaiian vendor marketplace,” organizers say. “Students of Ke Kula o Ehunuikaimalino and Kanu o ka ‘Āina will participate in an ongoing Mele Murals live art exhibition on site, throughout the day. Donations and proceeds from the event will benefit Mele Murals, an art education and cultural preservation community program encouraging leadership development among Hawai‘i’s youth.”

Tuesday, March 17th ∙ 10 a.m. – Special Tribute Ceremony (Kauikeaouli’s birth site at Keauhou Bay) The Daughters of Hawaii, the Royal Order of Kamehameha, and Kamehameha Schools invite all to join them for a special tribute ceremony honoring Kauikeaouli at the place of his birth at Keauhou Bay.
