WAIMEA, Hawaii – North Hawaii is getting ready for the October 17 Blue Zones kick-off celebration at the Kahilu Theatre. On October 1st, the Waimea Community Association got an update from Carol Ignacio, the island-wide Project Community Program Manager, who brought everyone up to date on the purpose of the collaboration between Healthways, Inc. and HMSA.

In February, Hawaii’s first Blue Zones Project® Demonstration Communities were announced at this event in Hilo.

Blue Zones will again be on the Town Meeting agenda on November 5th, as the Waimea Community Association partners with the North Hawai’i Blue Zones Project to present a “Built Environment” Workshop from 4-7 p.m. at Waimea School Cafeteria.
