NORTH KOHALA – The North Kohala Community Development Plan Action Committee will be meeting at the North Kohala Senior Center at 54-3900 Akoni Pule Highway at 5 p.m. today (Monday, Nov. 9)

On the agenda:

• A public access subcommittee report will provide an update on trails and access easements like Akoakoa Point (Bird Cave), Hapu’ u — Kapanaia, Halelua, Kauhola Lighthouse, Pahoa Beach, Latitude 20 Holdings, Kaiholena Lot F, Kohala Kai, Kohala Waterfront, and Kohala Shoreline, LLC. There will also be updates on Upolu Airport.
• The Water, Parks and Roads subcommittee will have an update on Pratt Road, which has been identified as a possible emergency bypass route around Hawi and Kapa’au.
• The Power, View Planes and Erosion Control subcommittee will talk about efforts to maintain Kohala’ s rural character and aid in keeping costs down for affordable housing projects. They will also be discussing a new proposal for community based, low -visual -impact solar energy systems.

The next meeting is scheduled for January 11, 2016 at 5 p.m.
