HAWAII ISLAND – The National Weather Service says a long-period north-northwest swell will build overnight and peak on Sunday, resulting in hazardous surf along exposed north and west facing shores. Waves could be 10 to 15 feet high.
Forecasters predict moderate impacts.
Expect strong breaking waves… Shore break… and strong longshore and rip currents making swimming difficult and dangerous. Beachgoers… swimmers… and surfers should heed all advice given by ocean safety officials and exercise caution.
