HILO, Hawaii – Proving his political career is not over, outgoing Hawaii County Mayor Billy Kenoi gave the opening speech at the traditional Democratic Party Grand Rally in Hilo.

“Our islands is one special place worth fighting for,” Kenoi told the crowd, “its worth putting forward yourself, putting forward your family.”

This year, the rally was held at Aunty Sally’s Luau Hale instead of the iconic Mo’oheau Bandstand, which is currently undergoing a restoration.
