HILO, Hawaii – It was a hot and sunny day for a parade in Hilo on Saturday.
The week-long Merrie Monarch hula festival came to a close, celebrating the finish with its annual Royal Parade through the downtown area.
Pa’u riders, hula halau, school bands, and various civic, military, and veterans groups marched the streets. The sidewalks – as always – were packed with thousands of onlookers.
