(BIVN) – The suspect in the theft of a county bus, 21 year old Kawelo Nakamura, appeared in Hilo court Tuesday.

Nakamura, who resides in King’s Landing, is facing multiple charges in connection with the stolen Hele-On bus, taken from the county base-yard Saturday morning and recovered later in the day on Highway 130 in Puna.

Judge Diana Van De Car granted Nakamura supervised release, with conditions. Nakamura will be back in court on August 24 for a preliminary hearing.
