(BIVN) – In October, the final phase of reconstruction on the east side of Saddle Road, now known as the Daniel K. Inouye Highway, was celebrated. However, the total Saddle Road project is not finished.

The west-side Saddle Road Extension to the Queen Kaahumanu Highway is being planned right now, and could be finished in about five years. A meeting on the future extension was held in Waikoloa this year.
