UPDATE: Hawaiʻi County Civil Defense says fire officials report the brushfire is under control.
(BIVN) – A brushfire has been reported in Kona near Hina Lani Street and Ane Keohokalole Highway.
A shelter has been set up at the Old Kona Airport Gym, a Hawaiʻi County Civil Defense message stated, “for those who have been evacuated or need shelter.”
“Please stay out of the area, as fire and police personnel are working in the area,” officials said.
