(BIVN) – Two Keaukaha-area beach parks in Hilo were closed on Friday due to a shark sighting.
According to the County of Hawaiʻi, Carlsmith Beach Park and James Kealoha Beach Park were closed for the remainder of the day on Friday, May 15.
The decision to close the beach parks due to the shark sighting was made in coordination with the Hawai‘i Fire Department’s Ocean Safety Division.
