HAWAIʻI ISLAND - Water will be available while supplies last at various locations in Puna and Kaʻū.

(BIVN) – Water distribution is set to begin at 3 p.m. today (Monday, August 17) at various locations across Hawaiʻi Island for residents impacted by Hurricane Lala. 

The water will be available while supplies last at the following Points of Distribution. The locations are all in Puna and Kaʻū, districts hit hard by the storm. 

  • Keaʻau — HPP Community Association

  • Pāhoa — Billy Kenoi Park, Softball Concessions
  • Kurtistown — Hawaiian Acres

  • Mountain View — Fern Acres

“Community members are asked to share this information with ʻohana, friends, neighbors, and anyone who may need access to water,” stated the non-profit Vibrant Hawaiʻi. “This effort is being coordinated with support from the Vibrant Hawaiʻi Resilience Hubs, County of Hawaiʻi, KTA Super Stores, The Food Basket, The Salvation Army, HAKA, HPM Hawaiʻi, Conens Trucking, Meadow Gold Dairy, Hawaiʻi Community Foundation, World Central Kitchen, Ed Olson Trust, Hāmākua Macadamia Nut Co., and other community partners.”
