The Forge Awards – hosted by Hawaii Island Contractors Association, Hawaii County Economic Opportunity Council, HPM Building Supply and HFS Federal Credit Union – recognize “the unsung heroes of our communities—skilled labor workers and businesses that build and maintain the essential infrastructure we rely on, fuel economic growth, promote local commerce, harness local workforce and supports emerging markets,” organizers say.

This year, the Skilled Employee of the Year was awarded to Mark Damaso from Takamine Construction. Damaso is the Vice President of Millwork and Recreational Division.

The Skilled Company of the Year was awarded to Isemoto Contracting LTD, celebrating 100 years serving Hawaiʻi. The president of the company is Leslie Isemoto.

Organizers say FORGE Applications for next year’s awards will open in June 2027 and close in August 2027.
