(BIVN) – Hawaiʻi island motorists are being alerted to planned military convoys set to take place in West Hawaiʻi early this week.

The U.S. Army Garrison Hawaiʻi Public Affairs says the convoys will take place between Pōhakuloa Training Area and Kawaihae Pier from October 5th to October 6th. The convoys will occur from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Ten to fifteen military vehicles will be carrying personnel and military equipment. The U.S. Army says convoy leaders pull the convoy over where permissible “to allow local residents the ability to bypass the convoy and reduce backed up traffic.”

Army officials say if you have any noise- or training-related concerns, please reach the U.S. Army Garrison Hawaiʻi Community Concern Line at (808) 766-7778 or usag.hawaii.comrel@army.mil. The concern line is available Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
