One of the premier food and agriculture events on the Big Island, “Mealani’s Taste of the Hawaiian Range” – marked its 15th year on Friday.

The annual showcase of Hawaii’s grass-fed beef industry attracted a hungry crowd to the Hilton Waikoloa Village on September 10th.

The event provides a venue for sustainable agricultural education and supports locally produced ag products. Of course, there was also plenty of mouth-watering beef cooked to perfection by talented local chefs.

Founded in 1996 to kick-start the island’s grass-fed beef industry, the event has evolved to feature a cornucopia of locally produced food—everything from mineral-rich sea salt to savory and succulent rib eye steaks.

The current event is a partnership between CTAHR, Hawaii Cattlemen’s Association, Hawaii Cattlemen’s Council, Kulana Foods and community volunteers.
