NEWS BRIEFS
- Snow has fallen on Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa. The summits are both under a National Weather Service Blizzard Watch, issued on Monday.
- The road to the summit of Mauna Kea is closed to the public at the Visitor Information Station at the 9,200 foot level due to strong and gusty winds at the summit, rangers say. The winds are sustained in the 50 to 60 mph range with gusts in the 80 mph range.
- Due to forecast high winds and blizzard like conditions, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park says the summit of Mauna Loa is closed until further notice.
