(BIVN) – A packed council chamber in Hilo forces people to wait outside as concerned citizens sound off on the issue of strawberry guava, and a possible council resolution requesting that the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Hawaii State Department of Agriculture desist in the plan to release a scale insect to curtail the rapid spread of the plant. Public testimony was presented both for and against the resolution, which was held for public hearing in October.
