HILO, Hawaii – After all the ballots were counted on Saturday, it was announced that Bernie Sanders received 504 votes to Hillary Clinton’s 187 during the Democratic Party Caucus and Presidential Preference Poll held in Keaukaha.
The District 2 Chair for the Hawaii County Democratic Party, Micah Alameda, informed the crowd gathered at the elementary school cafeteria of the results, and said that the 691 that voted in second district was an “awesome” turnout.
It is shaping up to be a big day for Sanders, who has also won in Washington State and Alaska.
