HILO, Hawaii: Hawaii County Corporation Counsel Lincoln Ashida had a strong showing on primary election night in his bid for County Prosecuting Attorney… his 19,771 votes were not enough to break the 51% barrier to win outright. He will face runner-up Mitch Roth in a November run-off. Paul Dolan managed over 15% of the vote… his public antics on the night before the election certainly infused some color into the race.

But spirits at the Ashida camp were high on the night of the election, at his Kalanianaole headquarters. Outside the building where things were a little more quiet, Ashida reflected on the campaign.
