November 9, 2008 – Waimea, Hawaii
Hawaii paniolo participated in the 10th annual Big Island Cow Horse Championship, held this weekend at Anderson’s Arena in Waimea.
The event is hosted by the Hawaii Island Cutting Horse Association, and features some of the finest cow horses and skilled riders in the state.
The competition included events like cutting, reining, and buckaroo. More than $10,000 in cash prizes was up for grabs.
The event is the highlight in the 2008 year of cow horse competition on Hawaii island. All horse breeds were welcome. The event is free and open to the public.
