Athletics, philosophy, and raw vegan lifestyle mixed at a unique four day event along the Kalani coastal area of Hawaii’s Puna region. The event has been dubbed the Rainbow Raw Games, and it is the first in what promoters hope will be a popular annual event.
Over the course of the Rainbow Raw Games, guests partook in a series of educational and competitive activities, often centered on the ideals of a harmonious and healthy relationship with nature and personal growth. Many of the attendees practiced a raw, vegan food diet; the lifestyle which inspired the event.
A Hawaiian style series of games honored the tradition of the makahiki season, and music and keynote speakers kept the audience interested during breaks in the action. A surf competition was also held at Honolii Beach Park on Friday.
A diet of raw food was not a requirement for participation. People from all creeds and religions were invited.
