First responders gather in Hilo as a part of the 5th Annual Pacific Islands Region Hawaiian Monk Seal and Cetacean Responders Meeting

The 5th Annual Pacific Islands Region Hawaiian Monk Seal and Cetacean Responders Meeting was held in Hilo this weekend.

Along with a number of presentations held at the Imiloa Astronomy Center, first responders were able to get some hands on training at the new Hilo Stranding Facility in Keaukaha.

The event was an opportunity for those in the field marine mammal rescue and rehabilitation to network and share information.
