A selfless community effort in Hilo will result in a home for the holidays for a family in need.

Hale Aloha O Hilo Habitat for Humanity is building a home in Keaukaha, and is looking for volunteers to help construct the house, feed workers, or provide manpower as needed.

As you can see in this footage, provided by the Hawaii County, the project is moving along quickly.

Hawaii County Mayor Billy Kenoi visited the worksite last weekend, and chatted with volunteers. Later, Julie Hugo, Board President for Hale Aloha O Hilo Habitat for Humanity, explained how the program works.
