The signs of the holiday season were also visible in the parking lot of the Ben Franklin Building, where Hilo’s “Wisemen” were busy selling Christmas trees to benefit the Hawaii Island YMCA.
One of many locations in town where residents can purchase the imported holiday hallmarks, these volunteers were quick to explain how the sale is for a good cause… and part of a long tradition.
