Big Island police are requesting the public’s help in identifying a suspected burglar caught on video surveillance during a burglary that occurred at a Hilo business.

On December 23, 2010 at about 6:49 a.m., South Hilo Patrol officers responded to a burglary at a business on the corner of Leilani Street and Kanoelehua Avenue in which merchandise was stolen. In addition, officers recovered surveillance footage, which depicts a slim to medium built male wearing a cap and a mustache.

Police ask that anyone who may know the identity of the male suspect in the surveillance photo to call Detective Paul Fukuda of the Area I Criminal Investigation Section at 961-2381.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona. All Crime Stoppers information is kept confidential.
