NAALEHU, Hawaii – Big Island Video News is forwarding the following message from Hawaii County Civil Defense:
Hawaii Police Department advises you to AVOID Route 11 and the Ohai Rd. intersection in Naalehu due to a current traffic issue. A downed tree has closed Route 11 and will require a detour of traffic for the next four to five hours.
UPDATE: Highway 11 is now open, according to officials.
