PAHALA, Hawaii: In Ka’u, a local library plans to shut down temporarily.

Pahala Public and School Library will close temporarily on Thursday, October 20 and from October 27 to November 17 due to a staffing shortage. The book drop will remain open during this time. The Library is scheduled to reopen on Friday, November 18.

While the Library is closed, patrons may visit the Naalehu Public Library. The state asks that you please contact this library for its current public service hours. Call Naalehu Public Library to arrange for the pick up of requested items.
