NORTH KOHALA, Hawaii: The Hawaii State Department of Transportation has issued an alert for the following lane closures for the area of Mahukona and Kohala Mountain Road during the week of May 19-25th.

The DOT says lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

1) MAHUKONA
Alternating single lane closures on Akoni Pule Highway in both directions between Milepost Markers 5 and 15, in the vicinity of Mahukona, on Monday, May 21, through Friday, May 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for pavement resurfacing.

2) WAIMEA
Alternating single lane closures on Kohala Mountain Road in both directions between Milepost Markers 2 and 7, in the vicinity of Waiaka Junction, on Monday, May 21, through Friday, May 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for pavement resurfacing.
