Waikoloa Village, Hawaii: A small fire in the kitchen area of a Waikoloa Village business was doused by fire crews on Monday.

The Hawaii County Fire Department says the 6 a.m. fire – located at a Melia Street commercial establishment – was contained to kitchen area only. Heavy smoke filled the interior of the establishment due to the building being locked and secured, but once ventilation was performed on the roof, a majority of the smoke was cleared.

The fire was out by 7 a.m. No injuries were reported.
