HOVE, Hawaii – This is a Department of Water Supply (DWS) deepwell break down message for Tuesday April 2, 2013 at 12:00 noon.

At this time, the HOVE Deepwell in Ocean View is down. DWS staff is currently analyzing the problem to determine the needed repairs. A timeline for repairs is not known, however, as soon as further information becomes available, you will be updated.

Due to this breakdown, the following are in effect:

A. The standpipe facility is closed until repairs can be completed. Water haulers may use alternate standpipe facilities in Na’alehu or Ho’okena.

B. The drinking water spigots remain open for community access however, users are asked to limit consumption to potable needs only.

Again, the HOVE Deepwell in Ocean View, Ka’u is down. The standpipe facility is now closed. Water hauler customers may use alternate facilities in Ho’okena and Na’alehu. While water spigots remain open for general community access, users are asked to limit their consumption to potable needs only. Your cooperation extends the current water availability in the reservoir. For further information please call Daryl Ikeda at (808) 961-8790.
