HILO, Hawaii – The Department of Water supply reports a main break occurred near Mala’ai Road in the Waiākea Uka area of Hilo earlier this evening. In a release to media, the water department says area customers located on Ainaola Drive, Kupulau Street, Hoaka Road, and Mala’ai Street and all side roads may experience little to no pressure in their water service while crews conduct repairs. Those repairs are estimated to be completed by 1:30 a.m. tomorrow morning (Thursday).
