HILO, Hawaii – “The largest and most comprehensive orchid show” in the state of Hawaii will have a new home this year.

The Hilo Orchid Society’s “Orchids Avant Garde” show and sale will be held in the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium, after a long stretch at the Edith Kanaka’ole Stadium a block or two away.

The show will be held on August 7 – 9, 2015 and will feature the displays, demonstrations, orchids and orchid-related sales that enthusiasts look forward to all year long. The event will include refreshments and entertainment. Admission is $5 general; children 12 and under get in free. This will be the 63rd annual event.

Last year 4,000 people attended the Hilo Orchid Show and Sale making it one of the largest events in Hilo, organizers say. People came from 26 other states and 14 other countries. More information at hiloorchidsociety.org.
