HILO, Hawaii – Waters rushed over East Kawailani Street in Hilo following heavy rain from Tropical Storm Madeline on Wednesday evening.

Runoff covered the road and collected into drainage behind the Kaiulani Subdivision on Kamalii Street.

The location is no stranger to flooding, where a permanent sign is posted warning of the common danger.

Flooding also closed Kamehameha Avenue and Lihiwai Street by Liliuokalani Gardens.
