(BIVN) – Hawaii County Councilmembers heaped praise upon the county’s Department of Liquor Control on Friday.

Liquor Control Director Gerald Takase made a short presentation during the Finance Committee’s annual departmental review in Hilo, as the council turns its attention towards passing a budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

Councilmembers thanked the department for shepherding their contingency funds into the hands of non-profits, and told Takase they have heard positive feedback from liquor license applicants.
