(BIVN) – The Waiʻōhinu Transfer Station will return to its normal operating schedule beginning Saturday, October 24th.
The County of Hawaiʻi says the adjustment follows the temporary, seven-day-a-week service that was provided to assist residents with storm debris cleanup in the wake of Hurricane Lala.
According to the County of Hawaiʻi:
The solid waste transfer station will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. It will be closed on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Recycling services will be available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on operating days.
Greenwaste disposal, added to support storm cleanup, will continue to be available on days the transfer station is open.
Residents are encouraged to plan their disposal trips around the normal operating schedule. Signs will be posted at the transfer station to notify the community of the change.
