(BIVN) – The annual International Coastal Cleanup Day was held in West Hawaiʻi on Saturday.
The event was centered at Hapuna Beach, according to volunteer Lynn Beittel, who shared images of the clean-up. “We were sent to the Puako Boat ramp parking lot where we found trash in addition to an abandoned vehicle and broken safety glass on the ground,” she commented.

Beittel’s photos show a large amount of marine debris was gathered up and hauled away.
The beach clean-up took place from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
